Leaving on a Jet Plane
While I was working at Sainsbury’s I became friends with a young lady who was on a placement there called Ruth. We worked together there for a year after which she went back to Uni for her final year and then went traveling for a year after. Then much to my surprise she came back to JS as a full-time employee and continued to work there after I left. We recently got back in touch and tonight was her leaving do as she is finally leaving Sainsbury’s and is heading off traveling again. I dragged Tom along and off we went to London.
It took us quite a while to find the pub but when we got there she was actually quite surprised I made it. It was really good to see her again. There were a few other people there that I knew and others that I recognised but didn’t actually know. They were all the more shocked as they thought I was in Japan as that was the last they had heard of my plans. I got a picture of Ruth, Gavin and Myself as we were the only three left of the original students.

It was nice to catch up with people that I haven’t seen in the last few years and it also reaffirmed to me that I made the right choice in leaving Sainsbury’s when I did. It was good to see that for the most part they haven’t changed at all but I was shocked to discover that Gav is now married with a step-daughter! Hopefully Ruth and I will meet up again in another two years when she gets back from traveling or somewhere along the way when Katy and I go.
After we said our goodbyes and left Tom and I headed into Soho for dinner. It was a nice evening, very relaxed. We talked a lot and I really enjoyed myself, it’s nice to get away from home and Bluewater every now and then.
