When Ben and I went to Slimelight a few weeks ago I spotted a girl who I thought was cute, well several really but one in particular. I pointed her out to Ben at the time. The next evening while still recovering from the lack of sleep I updated my profile on the dating site (no laughing at the back!) I had joined since Jo and I split up. I uploaded a new picture and changed some other bits. Five minutes later I got an email from a cute goth girl, called Katy, asking me to talk to her on MSN.

We chatted for a few hours online and it turned out that not only was she also at Slimes the night before but she was almost certainly the girl I’d seen. We talked online again the next night. She had to go back up to Shropshire the night after and as she doesn’t have Net access up there yet, we spoke on the phone daily from then on.

We got on really well and had lots in common. Eventually we talked about meeting and I said I would drive up to hers for the weekend. I arranged it with work and then spent the next two weeks getting more and more nervous. On Saturday I drove up to hers after work, it’s was just over two hundred miles and it seemed to take forever. I questioned myself constantly on the way up wondering what the hell I was doing, nearly bottling out and turning the car around but I carried on.

We had a great weekend together. The whole time just felt so comfortable, like we’d known each other for ages. We both felt like it went too quickly though and are looking forward to our next meeting.
