Another Delicious Mac App
After seeing this post on MacMinute. I had to have a look at Delicious Library. Until now I have been using Chronopath Library which is okay but tends to be incredibly slow when switching between libraries and is generally unintuitive. After seeing screenshots of Delicious Library I expected it to be slower.

Once I had downloaded it, my fears seemed to be proven, it took several minutes to fully load on it’s first run, it did however import my entire collection from Chronopath Library including cover images without asking or being told to, which was impressive. Since then it loads and responds quickly so I guess I was wrong.
Also impressive is the way it displays you libraries, each one (movies, books, games, music) is displayed as items in a bookcase. You can zoom in and out easily using the slider at the bottom right and scroll through your collection, as well as sorting them in various orders. At the bottom left it displays a pane of peoples names, when you lend someone an item you drag it on to their name, it marks the item as out and keeps track of who has it. You can see what each person has by clicking their name, this displays shelves containing all the items they currently have on loan.
It has good integration with Amazon too, adding a new item can be as typing the title and hitting the title search button. Other features include being able to use a webcam as a a barcode scanner, automatically emailing ‘borrowers’ to remind them they have your stuff, printing well laid out lists and generally being a great application.
