I would like to congratulate ITV on a balanced and well put together programme about videogames. Unfortunatley I can’t, “Child’s Play” was an unbalanced attack on videogames. Doom was blamed for the Columbine Massacre, that sniper in the states is alleged to have practised on Halo, those two boys that killed a driver on I-10 were acting out fantasies based on GTA and recently there was that boy was killed by his friend who played Manhunt.

The program made me so angry, they went on about the content of the games and how they’re unsuitable for teenagers, no shit, that’s why they have 18 certificates on them. They then started with their statistics that showed underage kids were playing these games, well, I was shocked, imagine that, kids playing games underage, next they’ll be saying that kids drink, smoke and watch unsuitable films underage.

I agree that children should not be playing games like GTA, Manhunt and the many other violent and innapropriate games available but at the end of the day it’s the parent’s that buy these games for their kids, with little or no knowledge of the content….
