It turns out it was worth all the hassle, last week I was awarded a 2.2 which was due to my Photography resit being capped at 40, which I was told wouldn’t happen. I contacted the academic office to let them know what had happened, here are the last two emails I received from a lady in the Academic Office.

…I have just spoke to the Administrator and she has corrected the mark, you have been awarded a 61 pass for that module (not the capped 40) so I will re-calculate your degree today to see if that effects your classification and will ring you or email you on Monday to let you know the outcome.

With the uncapped mark your classification has now gone up to a 2:1. I will process the paperwork today so you should receive notification in due course.
