GPS on Mac

The GPS Mouse I ordered of eBay arrived today. It turns out it’s a BU-303 but it looks identical to the Rayming TripNav USB GPS Receiver. I plugged it in and the light on the device lit up, which was a good start. I loaded GPSNavX and it couldn’t connect to the device. I tried GPSy too and that was no go. A quick google later pointed me to Cliff’s Weblog which gives a link to a driver that will make the device work with osx!

GPSNavX then recognised the device and plotted me on the map - in the atlantic ocean. Hmm. I moved outside and it then corrected itself. So now I just have to get some decent GPS/Navigation software and I’ll be sorted.
