Getting the hard sell
I filled out a form on the Honda website the other day requesting some brochures. They arrived this morning and I had a brief flick through them. Later, around lunchtime, I had a phone call from a guy from my local Honda dealership asking me when I would like to arrange a test drive. I explained to him that I wasn’t looking at a car until July and that I would probably be looking at a second hand model. He continued to insist that I was welcome to go there for a test drive or just to have a look around whenever I liked. He seemed a very nice man. Unfortunately even if I could find the £17,013 for the Civic Type-R (with air-con) I don’t think I could afford the £2,772 insurance that elephant quoted me.
