Great book, Crap Journey

I had to go into Uni today for a half hour chat with my lecturer regarding my single project (Doom Vs Pac-Man). I got a train at 8:30am which meant that my ticket cost £17.50! After getting to Victoria I got on a train that was going to Ealing Broadway. At least that was what I was lead to believe by the sign on the front of the train, the departure board at the station, the announcer on the platform and the drivers announcement on the train. Eventually the train stopped and I looked out the window. Where am I? Not Ealing of course but Richmond. So I spend another half an hour travelling back to Turnham Green and getting another train to Ealing Broadway.

What was the cause of my scenic journey to uni? “Northern Lights” by Philip Pullman, which I finished reading on the journey. It’s a very good book and I am looking forward to the second in the trilogy The Subtle Knife which I will start tomorrow.
