When I got home last night I tried to install the drivers for the video card but they came up with a message saying they required DirectX 8. This is a 10Mb download and until Monday I’m still on dialup, thankfully Malyon downloaded it and brought it over for me on the way to the pub. So the PC works, the Wi-Fi card in the PC works and I have now moved the router to it’s new home in my bedroom. Then we picked up Tony and went to the pub, en route Malyon showed us his in-car GPS system which is pretty cool. We had interesting and deeply philosophical disscussions as usual in the pub and a good time was had by all. When I got in I installed Office 2000, while under the influence of alcohol and it worked, or at least I think it did?! I’ve just got to wait until Monday to get the ADSL plumbed in. It’s like the days before xmas when I was a kid….
