Sheesh!

Yesterday, I went to Uni and had a fairly uneventful day. I left Ealing about half past five and I got to Jo’s about half past nine. How did I do a two hour journey in four hours? Well….

I took the tube to Embankment as usual and got a train to Dartford. When the train got to Charlton it stopped for about ten minutes. The driver then informed us that there was something on the track ahead and we would be delayed. Another ten minutes passed and then the driver told us that a lorry had hit the wall of a bridge and the rubble was all over both tracks, this meant that the train wouldn’t be going anywhere for at least two hours. I have never been to Charlton and I had no idea how to get to Dartford from there so I rang Jo. She told me that I could get walk to Woolwich and get a bus from there to Dartford but she didn’t know the way so she offered to come and get me from Asda.

So I went to try and find Asda. I must have taken a wrong turning because I ended up walking through a pitch black industrial estate and I must admit that I was glad I didn’t see anyone. Eventually I found Macro’s and the lady there told me how to get to Asda. As this is my life it would have been far too simple to just leave the shop through the exit and as I don’t have a Macro card I couldn’t get through the shop to get to the exit. The woman at the counter told me to just “force the doors open” which I did, to the bafflement of the people in the queue. Then I toddled off to Asda with the intention of getting a coffee and waiting for my lift. When I got closer to Asda I discovered there was a big industrial-estate-cum-shopping-centre which was quite cool. So I wandered around WH Smith’s until they shut and then I went to Asda. Unfortunatley there wasn’t a coffee shop in Asda. So I sat in the entrance on the “granny bench” eating my sesame bagels and drinking a bottle of orange squash until Jo got there.

Still at least I got home in the end. Thank you Jo!
