Deviantart is becoming amazing
I haven’t really visited
target="_blank">deviantart for just over a year and until today
my last submission was dated Nov 4th 2002. After submitting a photo retouching
example entitled
target="_blank">“Photos Lie”, I bounced around the site for a
while. Some of the work I found is amazing. In particular an American artist
called
target="_blank">Ethan- has done some amazing 3D work. They’re
mainly robots of all shapes and sizes but the quality is fantastic. Other works
that I particularly liked were
href="http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/448666/"
target="_blank">“digital - manip” - a beautiful collage of
modern technology with an old photograph,
href="http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/92707/" target="_blank">“The
Smile Factory” - a cute sketch digitally coloured in Photoshop and
target="_blank">“Holding a Piece of Time” - an amazing
photograph taken at the exact moment a drop of water hits a pool in the artists
hand.
I stopped visiting DevArt mainly due to the amount of crap that
was submitted and the stifling attitudes of some of the rednecks that frequented
it. It seems that a lot of the deviants have grown up and I think I will start
uploading my work there again once I have time to make some more.
