Copyright and The Mad Trolley Dash…
Today I had to go to Uni to collect some notes and a set of studio lights.
I also went to an additional lecture on Intellectual Property and Copyright.
The lecture was given by

target="_blank">Ursula Smartt who is a senior lecturer within
the law faculty at TVU (she’s also written several books about prisons and
criminology). It was actually really interesting. I thought I should go as
it’s something I’ve never really understood, I found it informative and helpful
and look forward to the second part next Tuesday.
After the lecture
I went and picked up a folder of notes, a set of studio lights, a medium format
camera and a light meter. I then managed to make it to the tube station before
I had to put them down. When I got back to Dartford I was going to get a cab
but I didn’t have enough cash so I struggled along the road for a while. Then I
suddenly had a brainwave, I thought if I could “borrow” a shopping trolley I’d
be able to push it to Jo’s and it’d be much easier.
It was at that
point that I learnt a useful lesson and something you should all remember: there
are never any abandoned shopping trolleys around when you want them! I finally
spotted two at the back of Safeways so I went to go and liberate them, they were
pretty battered but they would’ve been fine for me. I loaded my stuff on one of
them and then pushed it off the curb to cross the road and it jammed out. I
looked at the wheel and it turned out they had these “trolleylocks” on them. So
I had to pick up the trolley and put it back where I found it. I carried on
struggling home, then about halfway to Jo’s some kind soul had left a trolley in
the bushes. I loaded it up and pushed it up to Jo’s. Then as I’m far to
consciences I took it all the way back to Safeways again. I weighed all the
bags when I got in just out of interest and they weighed 3.8 stone (24kg)! So
I’m knackered now and all of my muscles ache.
